About BetterGov

Learn about the BetterGov initiative and our mission to improve Philippine government websites

Inspiration

The inspiration for BetterGov.ph came from recognizing the need to modernize and streamline access to Philippine government services. While the government provides numerous essential services, finding and accessing them can be challenging for citizens. We wanted to create a user-friendly, intuitive platform that brings these services together in one place, making government services more accessible to all Filipinos.

What it does

BetterGov.ph serves as a centralized portal for Philippine government services, offering:

  • A modern, user-friendly interface for accessing government services
  • Real-time information widgets (weather updates, forex rates)
  • Comprehensive service directory with easy filtering and search
  • Multilingual support (English and Filipino)
  • Mobile-responsive design for access on any device
  • Latest news and updates from government agencies
  • Detailed information about government structure and officials

How we built it

The platform is built using modern web technologies:

  • React for the frontend framework
  • TypeScript for type safety and better development experience

  • Radix UI for accessible component primitives
  • Lucide React for consistent iconography
  • React Router for client-side routing
